If you want sheep that are easy lambers, consistently twin, and have outstanding mothering skills, then Touchstone Farm Clun Forest Sheep are what you're looking for. Our ewes raise their lambs on pasture alone and produce big meaty lambs. Our goal is to produce lambs that will consistently weigh 100 lbs. in six months on mother's milk and grass alone. Rams from our flock are terrific breeders and will give you a lamb crop that is vigorous and "growthy" from day one. Many commercial flocks swear by Clun rams to give their flocks a competitive edge in the market.
Clun Forest sheep are famous for being low maintenance easy keepers. This makes them ideal sheep for new shepherds, hobby farmers, estate owners, and busy commercial flock owners alike. Our flock of purebred Clun Forest Sheep began with carefully selected individuals out of the top bloodlines in the US and Canada. Artificial insemination from five of the top rams in the UK has allowed for further refinement of our flock's genetics (Saltersford's Derek, Pen-Y-Wern's Beater, Court Llaca's 3815, Guifron's 4153, and Guifron's 4150). Years of rigorous selection based on high productivity and classic Clun Forest attributes has resulted in a flock that is uniformly attractive, manageable, and highly productive.
As we refuse to sell to others any sheep that we would not consider retaining for our own breeding program, we have only a limited number of potential breeding animals available each year. Two year old rams from top UK sires. These are all outstanding rams who are the absolute best offspring of two of the UK's top Clun Forest rams. These rams were selected for weight, length of body, testes size, and overall Clun conformation. These are the only rams available in the US which carry these UK bloodlines, and they are offered for sale for the very first time. Dams of these rams are our top producing ewes.
